Ridley Rowers Revisit Tradition

Ridley Rowers gather moments before the 7:00AM chimes and the start of a team run.

Back in the 1980’s the Ridley Heavy Eight used to meet twice a week for a morning run. On the first strike of the School Chimes at 7:00AM, we would head off into the streets of the Western Hill. This morning, the entire rowing team showed up for a group run—junior and senior, men and women—an began, once again, an old tradition. As it was then, it is still a wonderful way to build team, support fitness and establish life-long habits of health and wellness. It was a beautiful sunrise and the perfect morning for the re-birth of an old idea. Row Blacks, Row!
